GEWA music was founded in 1925 by Georg Walther in Adorf, in Vogtland. Georg Walther and a small team of violin makers from the region focused on the construction and sale of specially crafted instruments as well as the following the corresponding cases and cases.

GEWA music decided to divide individual product groups of the company into five specific divisions. Thanks to these reorganisations of internal structures, it is possible to operate highly specialised in the product groups and thus provide the world market with top products of respective price categories in each specialist area.

All Gewa digital pianos are developed and manufactured in Germany under the Gewa brand – Made in Germany. The assembly of the individual components is carried out by specialists at the GEWA factory in Adorf, whereby the instruments are subject to the highest quality criteria and are thoroughly tested by professional pianists before delivery.

GEWA Strings is the oldest part of the company. Under the umbrella of GEWA music, GEWA Strings is an independent division, which focuses entirely on development, manufacturing, sales and marketing as well as customer contact.

Highest quality, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and ensuring intergenerational knowledge transfer have been a tradition at GEWA music since 1925.

The GEWA music guitar range offers guitarists of a wide range of ages and experience classes the right instrument.

Since 2015, GEWA music has been the European distributor of the legendary roundback guitar brand Ovation with its subbrands Applause and Adamas. In 2020, the purchase of the Ovation brand was sealed, which has since been part of GEWA Guitars‘ own brand repertoire.

GEWA Winds developed the world-famous Roy Benson range, which manages to meet the needs of beginners, beginners and advanced users. GEWA Winds covers the upscale or professional wind music instrument market with Vincent Bach, King, Conn, Le Blanc and Yanagisawa.

Gewa Winds also carries instruments made of plastic under the brands pTrumpet and pBone.

In addition to the distribution of well-known brands such as Drum Workshop, REMO, PAISTE, Latin Percussion, Gibraltar, Toca and Gretsch, digital drums have also been developed under the brand „GEWA – Made in Germany“ in the GEWA Drums division since 2020. The innovative G9 series designed for the professional user is manufactured directly in Adorf.
